Lodging

 

Below hotels located in Akyaka, Mugla offer discounted conference rates.  Please mention HIBIT and the dates Oct 15-17 during your reservation (1 Turkish Lira (TRY)  is approximately 0.35 Euros):

How to get to Muğla or Akyaka? 

 

By Plane:

 

Muğla has two airports: Bodrum-Milas Airport (BJV) and Dalaman Airport (DLM).

From Dalaman Airport (DLM) to go to Akyaka or Muğla, you can take the Dalaman-Marmaris shuttle. Shuttle schedules are available at HAVAŞ and MUTTAŞ web sites.

From Bodrum-Milas Airport (BJV)  to go to Muğla, you can take the Bodrum Milas-Menteşe shuttle: Shuttle schedule is available at MUTTAŞ web site.

From Mugla bus station to Akyaka, shuttles (dolmus) run every half hour between 7:00am-8pm and every hour between 8pm-12am. There are no shuttles between Mugla bus station and Akyaka between 12am-7am.

By Bus:

 

Buses are the Turkey’s most widespread and popular means of transport.  There are bus routes between bus terminal (otogar) of major cities. You can buy bus tickets online in advance (unfortunately the number of English web sites is limited)  or at bus terminal few hours before the trip.

To get to Akyaka where hotels are located, you can either set your final destination as Mugla and take public transportation(dolmus) to Akyaka or set your final destination as Akyaka on a bus heading to Marmaris and ask for a drop-off on the way (Akyaka is located between Mugla and Marmaris.

From Mugla bus station to Akyaka, there is public transportation (dolmus) every 30 minutes between 7:00am-8pm and every hour between 8pm-12am. Dolmus trip between Mugla-Akyaka takes about 30 minutes. There are no shuttles between Mugla bus station and Akyaka between 12am-7am.

How to get  Muğla Sıktı Koçman University Atatürk Culture Center (conference venue)?

From Muğla City Center

Public transportation: By the municipal bus ring services called “CAMPUS (in Turkish KAMPÜS)” running every 10 minutes, you can reach to the front of the Atatürk Culture Center (AKM). The Ataturk Soccer Stadium at the Mugla city center is the main bus stop of these buses.

Taxi: From the city center to Atatürk Culture Center, it costs between 25-30 Turkish Liras.

Walking: From Muğla Bus Terminal to Atatürk Culture Center, the distance is 5.7 km and it takes 1,5 hour.

Public transportation: By the municipal bus ring services called “CAMPUS (in Turkish KAMPÜS)” running every 15-20 minutes, you can reach to the front of the Atatürk Culture Center (AKM).

 

From Akyaka

Conference Shuttles: Shuttles will be available to transport  participants from/to conference hotels in Akyaka to/from the Atatürk Culture Center (AKM) in the morning and after conference day ends.

Public transportation: The Akyaka municipal buses runs every 30 minutes between Akyaka and Mugla. These buses stop at  main entrance of the campus if requested. There is a 5 minute walk between main entrance. and Atatürk Culture Center (AKM).

Visa Information

 

To enter Turkey, you are required to have a passport that is valid for at least six months from the date you travel to Turkey. In addition, nationals from some countries require a visa to enter Turkey. Depending on your country of origin, you may purchase a visa stamp at the point of entry, or you must apply for the visa before arriving in Turkey. Currency Exchange

 

Credit/bank cards may be used at ATMs at the airport or in the city to get Turkish Liras (TL). The international arrivals area has currency exchange offices and bank branches. The best exchange rates are found in banks and currency exchange offices in the city center.
 
 

Electricity

 

Electricity in Turkey operates on 220 volts, 50 Hz, with round-prong European-style plugs that fit into recessed wall sockets/points. If your device does not accept 220 volts, 50 Hz you will need a voltage converter and if your appliance plug has a different shape, you will need a plug adapter.
